Inspired by Jarre

Jean Michel Jarre. A name, that stands for a special sound. With the "Invention" of albums like "Oxygène", "Equinoxe" and some more he was a pathfinder to bring on electronical music into every man's livingroom. And even, how you think about his work of today, he had huge impact on generations. We have an open ear for musicians, that not just copy Jarre and play his music note by note just with new equipment. We're actually looking for those guys, who play own compositions, with an own "touch", but in the style and with typical retro-sounds used by JMJ in the 70s. No plagiates, no "reworks" but music, that should sound, as if the master himself has set back to the machines and went on working, when his "retro-style" slightly went away in the 80s, replaced by a more sample-orientated concept.

Not an easy task and the critics may say 'Impossible!'. Nevertheless, a few Jarre-enthusiasts gave it a try and produced whole albums containing the typical sound of Smallstone-Phaser, Solina and those "piiiiuuuhh's" and "pffffffhhh's" that created the unique flavor of Jarre's "sound-carpets". We say, it really results in a real good 70s feeling, but with very own mellodies, arpeggios and musical constructions!

Our first official release of this kind is the album "Hydrolux" (A.Felsenstein). Up next is a concept-album produced by the sound-artist Elektronalin, which is musically a "possible" sequel to JMJ's album "Equinoxe".
